I was just revisiting the brazillian tour this week.
Porto Alegre and São Paulo 2 are pretty epic.
Like I said they finally nailed Light Years in Porto Alegre, and São Paulo 2 got some really good versions of SOLAT, Jeremy and Inside Job, which I don't usually enjoy live.
Rocking In The Free World was so FUCKING EPIC.
No Piano at the intro, Ed singing the chorus right.
God, good memories...

I ended up revising my Canadian tour compilation, lost a few songs and gained a few others. I'll give it a final listen this weekend before posting the new tracklist/links.

Have you heard enough SA shows to make a mix? I haven't heard any of the south american leg.

I've thought about that - maybe I'll do it next.

Without having to search through all 61 pages of this thread, what are the consensus best boots from both legs of this tour. I haven't purchased any 2011 boots yet and I was thinking about getting maybe two from each leg. Where should I start?

Encore 2
Just Breathe
Parachutes
Rats
The Fixer
Rearviewmirror

I've only looked through Canada so far and both those shows are on my short list too.

That show (Calgary) is a mess, performance-wise.

Get Lima, I can't stress that enough. If you were to only get one, that's the one you need.

That's disappointing to hear about Calgary. The set list was intriguing. So are your recommendations mostly based on performance (which would be most helpful to me) or set preference?

p.s. I will plan on getting Lima.

My recommendations are primarily based on performance, yes.

I agree that Calgary looks great on paper, I was pretty disappointed after I bought the boot.

Just reviewed the Lima set list and it does look very good. Based on that and the recommendation on sound quality, I will be buying Lima for sure.

Lima, Peru
Estadio San Marcos
Nov 18, 2011

Set 1
Interstellar Overdrive
Corduroy
Why Go
Hail, Hail
Do The Evolution <------ Great run of songs to open the show (I could throw Small Town in here too)
Severed Hand
Immortality

Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town
The Fixer
Even Flow
Setting Forth
Not For You
Lukin <------- Like this little group too. I'm one of the few that enjoys Amongst the Waves.
Amongst The Waves

Better Man / Save it for Later
Black
Go
<------- Big plus to the set.

Encore 1
The End
Just Breathe
Daughter / Blitzkrieg Bop / W.M.A.
Unthought Known
Olé
Blood
Jeremy

Porch

Encore 2
Given To Fly
Last Kiss <------ I HATE this song.
The Real Me <------ Probably my favorite cover PJ plays
Alive
Rockin' In The Free World
Indifference
Yellow Ledbetter

What do you know about the quality of Mexico City? The set list looks amazing. That may have to be my second pick.

It was never released due to a recording error.

Rio is okay, but Ed's voice isn't very strong (which is a persistent problem on the 2011 shows) and that's a very mediocre version of Of the Earth.

I'm pretty sure most people think he sounds great when they're actually at the show.

That sucks. I figure if someone ever tries and yap my computer, I'd just smash it on the ground.

Now, no one wins.

From the audience recording, he sounds pretty alright.

That performance of "In the Moonlight" is probably one of my ten favorite Pearl Jam performances of the past decade. Just flawless.
