Interestingly enough, the last time The Who and The Rolling Stones played together was 1968.

They both played at the Concert for New York in 01.

No one's gonna talk about how weird Steve Buscemi's promo with the volunteer rescuers was? Those guys were tanked.

Chiming in really late here, I realize.

It was pretty awesome if you've been listening to lots of these guys all your life and never seen them live before.

The Wall was a big event in my then young life. I would not necessarily expected to have thought Ed's voice suited to Floyd, but I thought he was superb. He sounded great, and he brought his own depth and feeling to it, I really thought he made it into something even more wonderful. I agree with those who said they were moved by him in a way they hadn't been in a long time. It kinda felt like I was seeing him for the first time again.

And yeah, Waters' respect for him was great to see. He was quoted somewhere as saying "I think I even stopped singing at one point and kissed him, which is weird." So I guess it was spontaneous. Then that big hug at the end, and his comments others have already quoted.

Left me really hungry to see Ed again and cursing the fact that I couldn't make any of his solo shows this time round.

p.s. Clapton was fantastic.

my mother made a point to tell me they talked about this performance this morning on cbs's morning show. seems like a highlight to alot of ppl who arent huge pj fans like us. good to see. i thought the coolest part was how excited rodger waters was to have eddie vedder sing it.

I watched it again last night. It was a really powerful performance. Felt a lot of weight in his delivery. Well done Ed

still laughing about how tons of people thought that other dude was Ed the whole time. for some reason this image came to mind

it looked pretty dead. In the crowds defense it's kind of tough to rock out to a bunch of grandpa's on the stage.

yea im pretty certain the "grandpa's" on stage were 100 times cooler than the average member of the crowd. Man....if i was heading to MSG to see some of those artists - after a day of work - id sure as shit bring a change of clothes so that i could rock out without the hindrance of a suit and tie!

Maybe I've just had a really bad day but I it's been a long time since Ed's singing has bought a tear to my eye. That was awesome. Roger Waters is such a dude. Or a complete knob-end depending on your perspective or if you are David Gilmore. And who really cares about the crowd - it's to raise money for disaster relief, not to show off what awesome non-business attire you own.

I liked Ed's performance, but I wasn't blown away like some people around here. The last time i was blown away with Ed was at the 2008 Rock Honors The Who concert. That's where I came away saying, "Wow, there's still a little something left in the tank there."

That being said, I'm happy he's still around and enjoying himself.

Yeah, those two performances (especially Real Me) were terrific.

Those might be my favorite Ed performances of all-time. I was absolutely floored with how well he brought it on those two songs.

Ed had to limit his participation due to running out of space on his hands for more lyrics.

I was wondering.. who is going to be around to do the benefits in 2022? All the standbys will be likely gone/done with the exception of maybe Bruce.
