Fuck.

Is there anything out there with just him and no coldplay?

Lame musicians sometimes make good songs. It's like going out with an ugly chick who gives fantastic blowjobs.

dont all ugly chicks give fantastic blowjobs? and have great personalities?

No. Hot crazy chicks give amazing blow jobs and sex but they make horrible horrible girlfriends.

your statement does not contradict my statement

Maybe people are genuine?

I like The Beatles but I don't automatically suspect people are adopting an artifice of cool if they claim to dislike them.

As RM knows well, I don't see the appeal of The Rolling Stones. I'm not being disingenuous or trying to impress anyone with how cynical I am, I just think they kind of suck.

i fucking hate the rolling stones.

the previous paul/nirvana wasn't impressive stuff is dogshit. that's your immediate impression? taking them down b/c they played something obscure? how about the bigger picture once in a while? how about holy fucking shit macca is playing a song with the surviving members of nirvana? that's pretty cool, regardless of what song they play. the 4 of them could've played play me by neil diamond and i would've been happy with it. it's okay to like things, even if they're created on a big stage. like what you dig - unless it's that adam sandler thing.

my overall point being, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.

also, i buried the lead. should've immediately and appropriately responded to your whole maybe people are genuine thing.

no one here is trying to come off as cool. you're right.

i realize this stance doesn't match up with my end the cynicism let's be awe inspired thing, but life is about rolling with the punches and judging anew.

also, anyone who says they dislike the beatles is by definition automatically adopting an artifice of cool.

there is one inexpungeable fact in the universe and it is that.

Oh, is this a thread where we get to complain about a charity concert featuring collaborations between legendary musicians that was broadcast to our homes for free? I'm in.

Eddie was great and Roger Waters looks like that crazy McAfee guy.

How cool must it have been to sing that song with Roger Waters? One day you are stting around stoned, listening to The Wall with friends, 30 years later you are singing it in Madison Square Garden with the guy who wrote it.
