So paul mc cartney is stepping in for Kurt as nirvana reform tonight. That's a bit bizarre. Guess Kurt would like it.

I think Cobain hated McCartney, which I don't really understand. But I'm sure it'll be good. Who knows if they'll even do Nirvana stuff.

I hope Ed holds his own with this one.

Why could't Pearl jam pull it together to do this thing as a band as well?

He loved the Beatles, I just don't think he loved McCartney. That being said, this is from a interview I read years ago so I may be remembering wrong.

I don't think Ed would agree to this if he wasn't confident. We'll see though.

Not so sure about that.
Quote:
Paul McCartney is set to fill in for Kurt Cobain as the surviving members of Nirvana reunite at the Superstorm Sandy benefit in New York on Wednesday.

Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic have reportedly enlisted the Beatle to play onstage with them at the Madison Square Garden charity concert. The Fab Four legend reveals Grohl invited him to "jam with some mates," but admits he had no idea he was filling in for Cobain, who committed suicide in 1994. McCartney tells Britain's The Sun, "I didn't really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said, 'Whoa? You guys haven't played together for all that time? And somebody whispered to me, 'That's Nirvana. You're Kurt.' I couldn't believe it."
