Wow... okay so I'm sitting here mindlessly watching very early morning TBS TV as I'd been up all night not being able to sleep, and I inexplicably don't turn off like 3 straight episodes of "Saved By The Bell: The College Years". And I got the hint that it was the first 3 of that series.

Anyway, there was actually a PJ reference! I just pulled a huge double take. I'm trying to think of when this would've originally aired, I'm guessing at the latest maybe like '93, I dunno... But it was at the very beginning, Zach is macking on of the girl roommates (the blonde girl essentially taking over the Elizabeth Berkely part) and he asks her if she wants to go to San Fran I think it was "to see Pearl Jam". (but, as she was always shrugging off his advances, she was having none of that)

So how bout that boys, you know you're forever enshrined in the pantheon of bad teengage TV!

FUN FACT (since I can't fit the actual show quote of Ed's): Sales of RIOT ACT upon 1st release were "insanely disproportionate" in the Camden/Philly area to the rest of the country.

Meh there was also another bit where he asks someone if they've seen his PJ CD so its not all that big a deal.

Do a search. I beat you to this by probably a year.

And if I'd done a search, I'd probably have found that someone else had already beat me to it.

And so it goes...

Alrighty then. Well I see you pretty much live up to that little custom user title you have below your name accurately enough ;)

G'head. Now's the part where you say something clever back.

I think my favorite part is where the guy who slams me for not looking out for something that's been done before signs off with the oh so original (and let's not forget apparently funny after the 1 billionth time) "IBTL".

when pj was more mainstream they were often mentioned in tv shows.

Remember that episode of 90210 when David's friend is defending his love of vinyl and says, "Pearl Jam releases all their records on vinyl."

College Years aired from 93-94 (Ive actually got the DVD's dirt cheap when Media Play went out of business, like 5$ for the whole series)

REM is also mentioned on one of those episodes, and, back in the High School days, theres an episode where they try to get U2 tickets, and I think Zach tries getting Bon Jovi tickets too maybe? and he bribes Lisa once with MC Hammer tickets as well.

the u2 episode is one that i clearly remember: they camp out at the mall after screech lets people cut in front of him and those people by the last tickets. fortunately, another show is going on sale the following day and the gang stumbles upon a large bag full of money and zack plans on using the money to buy a bunch of tix and scalping them. also, two mysterious guys chase them around the mall. yes, i watched saved by the bell too much when i was younger.

i don't remember the college years pj reference, but then again, i've probably only seen those episodes a handful of times.

That thread was about various TV show apperences. This one is specifically about saved by the bell. They couldn't be more different. Please don't waste the classes time in the future.

Shannon Doherty brought that little factoid to the writers, I'll bet.

I remember Zach asking someone in the dorm if they'd seen his Pearl Jam cd.
