I talked to Pete Beattle of NPB Security (he is security director for Pearl Jam's tours) at the Nine Inch Nails concert in Kansas City tonight (NIN is also a NPB client) and he told me that Pearl Jam would begin their tour in North America at the beginning of May.

I'm not buying it. If it's true, that's great...but until I hear something official, I have to consider this a rumor like everything else.

Of course, I'd expect nothing less from the intelligent fans of pearl jam. I am doing the same.

Appreciate the info though, bud. I really hope that it turns out to be true.

These could have been a "rough schedule" that was the working template for the tour, you know, before availability was completely vetted and such. Obviously, when the real dates are set, there will be an official announcement, but it's possible that something like this was akin to a "first draft".

I see no reason to lock it.

First of all, just because something circulates (and is consistently deleted) at Synergy, doesn't mean that it has been seen here, or that it isn't true. It just means that it is not something that PJ mgmt doesn't want to circulate.

Secondly, there are PLENTY of wild rumors flying around here right now, and as long as people know they're just rumors, there's not really much reason to lock them. People can believe what they want. When there's real news, it will be in red at the top of the page.

gotcha

find it funny this guy didn't defend his story.. i think Pete is smart enough not to hand out a full tour schedule to a random fan

Thanks for that info. My feeling is that since the schedule is not finalised, that representatives of the band could not confirm or deny it in total without giving something away, and are waiting until everything is confirmed before they make an official announcement (which I expect will occur in the next two weeks as hinted at by Tim Bierman). I wouldnt call them "Fake" but rather unconfirmed.

I am not purporting that this is the final schedule, just what was being worked on a couple of weeks ago (as many of us were aware, but I never saw posted here). Also Pete did not confirm any individual tour dates to me, only the fact that Pearl Jam would begin their tour at the beginning of May and the first part of their tour would be North America.
