Smile is one of my alltime favorite songs. My sister lives about 10K miles away from me and Smile is our song. Sometimes, we'll talk on the phone and listen to the song for each other.

I love that song! It made me cry at Cardiff 2000 because I was so happy and it was so beautiful and I was so sad to say goodbye to all the people who wouldn't continue the tour... I've seen it 8 times now, and the last time was very special too. At Werchter, because of the balloons of the German fans in the Netherlands the day before. I'm getting emotional just thinking about it again And you're right about the saudade! "don't shine at all" (<-- shivers down my spine)

i got to see thumbing my way (and sadly i think its probaly retired at least for a while). I have yet to see smile though, it was apparently on the setlist at the uniondale show, but wasn't played

they played thumbing my way at plenty of shows i attended but i couldn't tell you what it's like because i taking a piss break
