Smile is one of my alltime favorite songs. My sister lives about 10K miles away from me and Smile is our song. Sometimes, we'll talk on the phone and listen to the song for each other.

I love that song! :luv: It made me cry at Cardiff 2000 because I was so happy and it was so beautiful and I was so sad to say goodbye to all the people who wouldn't continue the tour...
I've seen it 8 times now, and the last time was very special too. At Werchter, because of the balloons of the German fans in the Netherlands the day before. I'm getting emotional just thinking about it again  :)
And you're right about the saudade! "don't shine at all" (<-- shivers down my spine)

groetjes,
Mirella :)

This and Thumbing My Way are the top 2 songs that I haven't seen live yet but would really like to. Hopefully they're both not gone from the setlists forever. :|

TMW is a great song to relieve yourself during because it's so long. You can usually grab another beer too.

Saw Smile in Cleveland '06. Sounded great.

Rating it, in PJ's catalogue, it's a 3.5, but its ease for people to like it and understand and appreciate the sentiment in the lyrics makes it a 4.
