Some magazine had this top 100 guitarists of all-time in their magazine, I opened it in search of Mike McCready and I find his picture somewhere in the 30s-40s...well it's Mike McCreadys picture but Stone Gossards name..they even call him Stone throughout his description...even though it was clearly a description of McCready....it was pretty funny...I forgot the name of the magazine...but I was flipping through it at a Barnes and Noble..

stone is better than mike anyway.
I would say that they are quite different...and they complete each other

I'd call that a mistake. Not a horrible mistake. Lack of album makes people sooooooo dramatic!

yeh, if they had a picture of Gary Coleman instead of Stone, then it would of been a horrible mistake.
New PJ Album Syndrome does make people a little dramatic and crazy. Many people have New PJ Album Syndrome and don't even know it until they go to a doctor. It is curable and you can recognize the common symptons before it's too late.
You may be infected if:
1) You are excited about Brad's new album.
2) You watch ESPN just so you can be the first to post any pj mentions.
3) Crapshoot Rapture was your wedding song.
4) You read PJ chat on the toilet bowl.
5) You keep rating the new songs... by favorite title.
6) You are one of 10,000 to sign a Greek petition telling them to please release an album.
7) You have listened to Riot Act more than once.
8 ) You are starting to listen to entire Green Day songs.

I agree with all except #7.

A real mistake would have been if they posted a Christmas card of Mike with his nipple showing..............

that article was probably in Rolling Stone,
no big deal, because nobody reads it anymore anyway,
unless you like reading about movies instead of music...
BTW, don't get caught taking mags into the bathroom at B&N,
they'll make you pay for it,
then you'll have switch it with a mag that wasn't flagged,
and try to return that one... it's OK to steal batteries.

The Movies section of Rolling Stone is the only part I take seriously anymore. Peter Travers is great and has more balls than any other movie critic out there.

I think its best to put Mike and Stone together when talking about "greatest guitar gods of all time"
because they do compliment each other so much.
Kind of like how some bass players and some drummers never get mentioned as great bass players, or great drummers..... but when you put the two together, they are one of the best rythem sections of all time.....

Well i know just about NO ONE knows the drummer/bass player of Booker T and the MG's..... and no one considers them the best drummer... or best bass player of all time...
but they are considered one of the best rythem sections of all time?
same can be said for Ronnie Tutt / Jerry Scheff.... no one says Tutts one of the best drummers, no one says Scheffs one of the best bass players... but they WERE one of the best rythem sections of the 70's.
So, if you were making a list of greatest guitar players..... if you list Mike and Stone alone... they wind up below all the greats....
Hendrix, Page, Clapton, so on, and so on....
put them together, as a unit that compliments each other.... and id put them in the top 10.
or hell, how bout a Baseball analogy.... Paul Molitor is not considered one of the best all times, neither is Robin Yount.... but Molitor and Yount as the 1, 2, hitters of the Brewers lineups of the 80's IS considered one of the best 1/2 combos.
