It gives the exact location of the bands' new hangout. Wonder how the guys will feel being outed like so? Sounds like they might be moving again anyway so the whole disclosure could be moot...

I hope PJ doesn't get involved in this issue more than they have to. You can't get more NIMBY-ist than saying "don't build that dump near my warehouse"!

Cool story thanks for posting. I plan on stalking the band after the tour. I'll put a big red pin and a drop of blood on my map of Seattle next to their rehearsal space.

did you read the article? It's not going to be built NEAR the warehouse. It's going to be built directly on top of it. They're going to have to bulldoze PJ's headquarters.
Not as dramatic as bulldozing a house or something ... but still a pain in the butt.
The business that used the building before PJ was called The Audio Visual Factory which moved about 10 miles away in Kent. The owner of the property made a shrewd move by renting the property to Pearl Jam because had it just been some other chumps who moved in 6 months ago this story would not be a story at all and he would have been forced to sell the property and the businesses there would be given notice to re=locate. I doubt Pearl Jam would have leased the property knowing that this issue would arise with the pub and the possibility that they would have to move again.

It seems like bad move after bad move after bad move with these guys nowadays. The management of the band with the expanded role of The Band or 10C or whomever is just .... just not as smart as they think they are obviously..

Pearl Jam's new headquarters could face demolition because of the city's plans to build a dump. "We hadn't even finished unpacking and moving into our new space when we heard about the city's waste management site," spokeswoman Nicole Vandenberg said Saturday in an e-mail to The Associated Press from Cleveland, where the band was on tour. "We were surprised and saddened by the news on many levels."
Now, area residents — many of whom have worked for years to spruce up the area — are hoping their high-profile neighbors will help fight the plan.
"Eddie Vedder's for the little guy, and Pearl Jam would have a lot of clout," neighbor John Bennett told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer for a front-page story Saturday.
Vandenberg did not comment on whether the band would take a side in the fight. She said the band moved into the warehouse in December and learned of the plans in late January. Pearl Jam expects to spend most of this year touring in support of their new self-titled album.
Seattle Public Utilities would like to build a $70 million transfer station on the site, which is near the King County Regional Airport. It was the preferred site out of 1,000 considered.
The plan has not yet been approved by the city council.

Bummer.
