Mike is a pretty kickass guitar player. The solos on Even Flow, Alive, Help Help, Go, etc... are awesome. I know he typically plays scales, but he's fast as fuck. I don't think technical proficiency is the only thing that makes you great. He's got a great style that fits his band's music perfectly.

i can't believe you just posted that. i guess you could say he was overrated (which is already pushing it a little), but he was in no way a bad guitarrist.
