I was in the pub last night (this is england remember).
There was about 8 of us gathered around one of those electronic games machines. So anyway, the question for the jackpot was this:
Which band sued Ticketmaster for unfair ticket pricing?
A) Nirvana
B) PearlJam
C) R.E.M.
Could I even have asked for an easier question!!!!

Pearl Jam won me free bowling once, I was at the bowling alley and they had a contest, they played 3 PJ songs and wanted the artist and titles of all 3. The prize was free bowling
It was something really obvious too, like Alive, Jeremy and Daughter they didn't realize what they were up against

Pearl jam won me a game of trivial pursuit once.

England or not... we got those same macines here. If its the ones im thinking about : they got a bunch of different games in em, and they ussually sit them on the bar.
That same qestion came on, and of course since I'm the "Pearl Jam" guy, my buddy asked me if it was them.
I think you can all realate to being the "Pearl Jam" person...
They didn't sue Ticketmaster. They simply testified before a Congressional commitee on their experiences with Ticketmaster for an investigation on them being a monopoly. There was never any kind of lawsuit brought forth from either side.
yeah I'm the grunge guy... Pearl Jam, AIC, Nirvana, Soundgarden... I'm the big 4 guy
Yup Yup....great taste in music. I think thats why get on here from time to time: gives me people to talk to about this stuff, without boring my buddys to death.
Oh yeah I saw PJ at Blossom in 98.... I assume you were there too. Actually, If youre really 15... it might have been before your time

listen to the screaming trees (sweet oblivion and dust). They are as good as, if not better than, the non pearl jam seattle bands

Yeah we totally went off topic, but in a good way.
And yes, Pearl Jam is still very much active.... but look at the context in which hes using it. I think he meens "bands that have been around a while" and PJ's been kicking ass for as long as he's been alive.... 15 years
The Rolling stones are still active but...... get what im saying
Bottom line: any 15 year old whos listening to Sabbath, PJ, Soudgarden, Pink Floyd etc.... sounds like a future musician to me. Hopefully the guys roll through Cinncy and Cleveland this year, I'll see ya there.
Oh yeah.... Screaming trees are good.... so are TAD

One time a friend bet me that I couldn't recite every album's tracklist in order (this was right after Yield came out). The wager was for 3 free drinks at the bar we were at, which amounted to about $15 with the waitress' tip. Those were the easiest 3 drinks I've ever earned in my life.
