Lately my girl has been getting really into the band and their music, and the whole experience of seeing them live...which I think is very cool. But it got me thinking, who was it that got you into the band. did you hear them on mtv or the radio and decide to pick up their disc? Or did a good friend introduce them to you? Or maybe you heard about them in the news and wanted to know what the fuss was about...

My friend got me into vitalogy when it was released, and that was all she wrote....

A friend of mine when I was around 14. We snuck into her basement and she played Jeremy for me so I could hear Eddie say "fuck". I bought the CD a few weeks later.

 Dont feel bad, that happened to me too.

The radio introduced me to PJ (even flow), and then I saw the video for Jeremy (on MTV :x ) ...I was hooked.

first time I saw Don Mattingly play first base...oh now wait, that's the Yankees...

Got Ten when it came out, then VS was so rediculously good that it never came out of my tapeplayer...
I remember parts of high school only because of songs on Vitology that bring me back there...
and so on...

well of course i heard a song or two on the radio...but my real exposure to pearl jam came through my husband. now i am the fanatic and he is a more casual fan...but since he really introduced me to them...he can't complain. ;)

In 7th grade, 1998, when Yield came out. My best friend was sitting in class singing Do The Evolution one day, I listened to Yield at his house soon after, and the rest is history.

in 1998 when i was 12 or 13 i started listening more to rock music and playing guitar.

in the process i pilfered from my sisters small cd collection where i found vs., vitalogy and ten.

with listening they became my favourite band.
her boyfriend at the time also gave me more pearl jam alvums and singles and stuff to listen to.

so i guess my sister is responsible for my obsession.

this is the sort of way i think music should be spread.
makes it more personal than mtv.

I heard them when Ten came out when they hit the radio and MTV. I always liked the music I heard, but was only a casual fan. Last year I had the opportunity to see them on tour in Buffalo. After that show, I was hooked, and cant get enough.
