Credits say it's a Dave A/Gossard song. Anyone know if Dave A had the original riff or if he chopped up Stone's riff to make the 5/4. Either way Dave is responsible for an absolute monster gem of a track.
That we consider this and Go as the killer openers, speaks volumes. The guy brought so much energy that the album tracks of Vs and Vitalogy are the definitive versions more often than not.

Just checked ASCAP, the official credit is Abbruzzese/Ament/Gossard/McCready/Vedder.
That's the case for all of their 1993-1994 material (except Better Man, Satan's Bed and Nothingman), even if that doesn't reflect the reality of who actually wrote the song. We know Spin the Black Circle was Stone, for instance, and Ed for RVM and Small Town (among others).

All the songs in that period are credited to the whole band. But most songs are brought in by individual members, I'm pretty sure it's something like this:
Go - (Dave, Stone) Animal- (Stone) Daughter (Stone) Glorified G (Mike) Dissident (Stone) WMA (Jeff..jammy song.. all contributed) Blood (Dave, Stone) RVM (Ed) Rats (Jeff, Stone) Small Town (Ed) Leash (Stone, Jeff) Indifference (Stone/all members?)

I'm not entirely convinced Abbruzzese had a hand in Last Exit, I don't recall ever hearing anything to suggest that anywhere apart from that Wiki entry (which could've been entered by anyone). A Wiki listing isn't any more official than any of our guesses.

The Vs credits on Wiki are similarly screwy:
Quote:
1. "Go" Dave Abbruzzese [4] 3:12 2. "Animal" Stone Gossard [47] 2:49 3. "Daughter" Gossard [48] 3:55 4. "Glorified G" Gossard, Mike McCready [49] 3:26 5. "Dissident" Gossard, McCready, Jeff Ament [50] 3:35 6. "W.M.A." Abbruzzese, Ament [4] 5:59 7. "Blood" Gossard, McCready [2] 2:50 8. "Rearviewmirror" Vedder [6] 4:44 9. "Rats" Ament [51] 4:15 10. "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town" Vedder [51] 3:15 11. "Leash" Gossard, McCready [2] 3:09 12. "Indifference" Ament, Gossard [6] 5:02
The reference for Jeff being the author of Rats directs to a 2006 Vedder interview that doesn't mention the song at all. I'm also sceptical that Abbruzzese is responsible for Go alone, as far as I'm aware he only wrote the main verse riff, Stone wrote the remainder. Since Leash is so prominently driven by Jeff's bass, I've always presumed he was the author (or, at least, the co-author), etc.
So, my point is that I wouldn't put any stock in the credits as recorded on Wikipedia. The only official credits for the Vs/Vitalogy material (with three exceptions) is for the entire band, the rest is just fan speculation (admittedly, some of it fairly persuasive - Ed songs are clearly Ed songs, for instance).
