If Vedder says this forthcoming album features the band's best work, and if Crapshoot is on the new album, therefore Eddie believes it is a part of the band's best work.

Now, if you think Crapshoot is at best, a b-side to Vitalogy, then you have a fundamental disagreement with Vedder in regards to taste in Pearl Jam music.

That is not a good thing if you plan on enjoying the new record. And I fit into this category. :o

Crapshoot isn't a bad song at all. I like it quite a bit. If it's on the album, who cares? Does that mean the rest of the album will automatically suck?

sorry, but i love crapshoot. and we shouldn't rush to judgement before we hear the studio version. A lot of original versions stink. It definitely needed some cleaning up, which they have had PLENTY of time to do.

p.s. has an artist ever released an album and said, "well, its not our best work, but its okay."

I don't remember Pearl Jam coming out and saying Vs. was their best work ever --- even though it was, along with Ten and Vitalogy.

Perhaps it does, at the very least that's one wasted slot for a more deserving song.

that's cause they only had one other album to compare it to. I guess I should have been more specific.

when an artist/ band has a catalogue of work, they always say their new release is their best work. they have to hype it.

If its not their best work, why would anyone but us fools buy it?

I think I heard him say 'one of our best albums', so it's not even 'the best'.
I love Crapshoot so personally I would be happy with an album full of those 8)

groetjes,
Mirella :)

It's no worse than "Stupid Mop" or "Aye Davinita" or "Red Dot".

Your logic sucks.

He also said that he doesn't want to play the songs live until people have had a chance to hear them on the record. So, therfore Crapshoot Rapture won't be on the new record.

I believe that was said well after Crapshoot was played live.

Was it? I thought NC and Yield were. All in the eye of the beholder.

Crapshoot is a year old next month...so hopefully it'll get the axe and show up on a B-Side.

It's an all right song but nothing spectacular.

Sorry Coach, but anytime you ask me to follow your logic it takes way too big of a leap of faith.

its not like the first ime you heard teen spirit or anything, but its still a good fuckin song. I think its different enough from their other stuff while not deviating too far from what makes them pearl jam. I fuckin love it!

I still don't like the song, and all indications are that it's on the new album. It's a run of the mill, "hey we want to be punk but we are trying too hard" song.
I guess I'm not that big a fan of Pearl Jam punk. I tend to lean towards the experimental stuff, ballads, and long Mike McCready guitar solos.
