has this been discussed?? i searched but found nothing but also am not very adept to that search engine thing. the verses anyways of WWS sound like Undone's music and vocal melody.

yes--in the WWS thread. The original one, not the current one.

That's the exact song I compared it to when explaining WWS to my friend.
i agree. he even references the "wave not breaking" or something. i guess its not out of the ordinary for ed to reference himself in songs, although i think the melody during the verse is pretty damn close to undone.
The instrumental at the bridge is very similar to Undone's as well.
Undone was about anticipating the election with a positive outlook, WWS seems to be a response to that now that "the pedulum hasn't swung back the other way." I wouldn't doubt that connection to be purposful.

Exactly.

I remember feeling really cynical about Undone and a lot of RA after awhile because I was bored with what Ed was doing with the political stuff. I felt he was being kind of naive. I remember an interview that took place after the Vote For Change tour and he kind of recanted his feelings that he could change people's minds with the music. WWS seems to have that feeling, that everyone already knows how fucked up war is and it's still happening. Everyone knows the war was unjustified and it's still happening. I'm not a big fan of overtly political songs mainly becuase I think they aren't often that good, they often don't stand the test of time and are missing the point. DTE is an example of one that does work, specifically, becuase I feel it "get's it." And so does WWS.

i think it sounds a bit like satans bed i dont no why
Those were my thoughts when I heard the 15 second clip. I think the chorus has the same feel as Satan's Bed and Habit. But then when I heard the drums and opening verses of the song, I thought Undone.
