I have no idea if this has been posted anywhere and I didn't have time to search as I'm about to run out the door for for work, so if this is somewhere else then sorry Stip.

Anyway is the release date for 'Pearl Jam' going to stop Pearl Jam getting sales and recognition that they deserve? They're obviously trying to get a bit more commercial success with this album, but will releasing it on the same day as Tool and a week before the Chili's mean that it'll get lost in the mix???

are you saying you want to see them w/ more commercial success and recognition?

and i would say its a bad date, they should move it up a month or so.

The people who are going to buy it are going to buy it anyway, or a week later, the people who weren't in the first plane won't. It's simple trigonometry people.

that's funny that TOOl actually sold half a million copies in a week, cuz I always get disappointed when I get one of their albums and end of skipping more than a couple of songs after a few listens. A better release date would have been March 21st

seriously. we have enough fans. i dont see a benefit in adding more. i doubt they really care either. the core is strong, if others want to join, great. but as far as a born in the usa type, everyone loves us album, doubt it would ever happen. doubt it would benefit the core fan.

A Pearl Jam album release date is never a bad choice. And for the record, my lawyer told me that people are allowed to buy 2 albums on the same day if so inclined.

Tool, PJ, and the chili-peppers all have different enough fan bases it should be fine. Plus I'm sure it'll spawn a whole mess of '90's giants return to reclaim rock' articles that will be good publicity.
