sorry if there's already a thread about this, i searched and didn't find one

does anyone else find themselves listening to certain pearl jam albums during certain parts of the year more than others?

for me it's like during the winter i seem to enjoy riot act and no code more.

when winter ends and spring comes is the perfect time for yield to me. also in the summer i love binaural.

right now as summer is coming to an end and autumn is starting vitalogy seems to fit for me.

oh yeah, i don't listen to ten or vs much no matter what time the year it is

it's been like this for the last 2-3 years for me, anyone else?

Vitalogy and No Code in the fall for me. Maybe Vs to an extent as well, and I would cite all of those coming out in late summer/fall as part of the reason. My original memories of those albums are associated with fall.

In the summer it's Binaural and anything live.

I don't think I have particular seasons for albums. Or even moods for that matter. After I've had the album for a long time I tend to enjoy whatever i haven't heard for a while. And I have all the albums on an atrac cd (some sony ipod gimmicky thing) so I usually hear them all on shuffle anyway.

And the live boots are excellent for summer as well!

This has always been true for me.
Yield - spring/summer
Binaural - spring/summer
Vitalogy - fall/winter
Riot Act - winter
No Code - fall/winter
Vs - winter

This, I think, is partly because of each albums mood. But mostly I would say because of the date of the albums release. Look at my list and think of the they came out. Listening to them over and over during a certain time of year makes me relate the album to that period of time.

Yeah, I really hold to that theory as well. I was going to say Riot Act=Winter, but again, hasn't everyone else so far too? Never underestimate the time period during which you burnt an album into your brain through repeated listenings!

Being that I've always picked up the new albums on their day of release, I have indelible impressions of them based on the time of year they were released.

Vs. - Fall
Vitalogy - Winter
No Code - Late Summer/fall
Yield - Late winter/spring
Binaural - Summer
Riot Act - Late fall/winter

And Ten will always be a Summer album for me since I played the shit out of it in the summer of 92.

I love Binaural in the summer too, it just has a totally different feel for me, I think I originally bought it in the summer and it was my first PJ album so that probably has something to do with it.
