I like the whole system, but I have one idea for improvement. Maybe this is too hard to implement. Maybe no one agrees, but here goes ...

Make anyone buying tickets designate a favorite city. (If you're only going to one show, THAT is your favorite city.) Then, in your favorite city, you only compete for seats with other people who chose that as their favorite city. And in other cities, you sit a little further back.

First you seat everyone who chose the show as their favorite in order of Ten Club number. Then you seat everyone else by Ten Club number. That way, John "I've been a member since 1988 and follow the band around the country like they were the Dead" Doe isn't at the front of EVERY show and other people get a chance to be up close. He gets good seats in every city, just not the BEST seats, unless he's in his "favorite city."

I think leave as it, I have complained about the senority thing in the past, but by doing a little traveling, the shows in different states get you better seats.

With my idea, you'd just pick a new city. One close to you, probably.

I say leave it as is.. I like the ideas of the blocks.. I like it was said above, if you go to enough shows, you can find one without many people with 10c tix.. I am number 149 something and sometimes I would be in the first group and sometimes I wouldnt.. it just depended on where they were playing..

I also like the idea of waiting in line all day for better seats, or if they are in a place you want to explore a little you know you can do some tourist stuff at the expense of sitting further back.. Its a trade off and you get to decide what you want to do...

OK, i unfortunately have never seen pearl jam live. I live in England and I hear all these people say how they have lower 10c numbers so get better seats but was wondering one thing, don't most pearl jam gigs have a standing area at the front which are closer than any seats around the stadium? Surely the standing tix are better than any seats! Also can you get standing tix through 10c or is it just the seats? Do people get the pre sale seats through 10c to guarantee going rather than to wait for general release of standing? I dont understand!!!

Didn't they stop that after Rothskilde? P.S. I have no idea how to spell that place's name.

After Roskilde, no GA shows and you can't blame them. I don't think they will ever happen again and the lower your 10c number, the better seats you get in the orchastra pit

That system would lead to a lot of people putting down Seattle and NYC as their favourite cities.

That's fine. So in those cities, it wouldn't change much from how it's been. If people choose to blow their wad in NYC and Seattle, then fans in other cities get a break.

I agree. I think this is a good, equitable, and thoroughly workable idea. I'll tell Ed about it the next time I see him.

I expect some kind of monumental stuff up and Stone will be forced to do a Larry Mullen. That will confirm our long standing belief that everything that goes wrong can always be traced back to Mr Pants

no matter what kind of system they implement, there will always be naysayers...can't please everyone (but I think they would if they could)
