Pearl jam in movies/tv shows is usually very distracting for me, since I'm so used to hearing those songs in a music only format. I love Into the Wild, but it was very jarring in the actual movie. I kept wondering who put the cd on and why it was playing over the film

I know what you're saying. When PJ was in Cold Case, it was terriblely distracting. It was also the first and last time I ever watched Cold Case, so that might have had something to do with it.
What's more distracting is seeing Harold from Harold & Kumar playing a serious part in a show or movie. He is also the MILF kid from American Pie, right?

he is also the new Sulu in the JJ Abrahams Star Trek. He is actually a really solid actor all around.

Not the Random Pearl Jam Reference Thread? Cuz I was going to post it there, but the next morning I just figured someone already had.

Rescue Me is still the best at it. Although they weren't the first, I do think they started a chain reaction where shows do it every episode, instead of just special episodes.
usually those scenes were the highlight of the show in RM though, at least in the early seasons.

Cold Case ends every episode with a montage while a song from whatever era the case goes back to plays. And it has been on the air a year longer than Rescue Me.

Just think, if you guys could get jobs producing, directing, and/or editing TV shows, it would save the television industry!!!!

Not that Cold case started this, either.
