Satellite, Longing to Belong, You're True, Broken Hearted, the list goes on and on...

Why not fill Backspacer with these, giving it a kinda Neil Youngish acoustic rock vibe? Like ITW with PJ instead of Pro-Tools. They are road tested, lyrically developed, and very radio friendly. Goddammit that would be awesome. I'll be in my bunk.

that would be a great move but i have the feeling we'll never hear most of them anywhere else than on the bootlegs we have or on some future eddie solo album. it's sad because they're good songs.

Because the last PJ album was boring enough.

Because a new album should have new material.

I really want these to appear in some form of recording at some point, I love them. I can't see them appearing on any future PJ album...they're 8 years old, it would just be a little strange - why wouldn't they have appeared on Riot Act or S/T?

Yeah I was thinking about Betterman, but that was a pop anthem that everybody wanted to be a part of. These songs are primarily slow, solo pieces, and I'm guessing that during the Riot Act sessions the band heard all of Ed's uke songs and decided that Can't Keep was the best one to adapt. It would be really interesting to see if they recorded any of the others though.

Wasn't there a list circulating of all the songs recorded during the Riot Act sessions? Someone should find that.

I was never as into these songs as everyone else seems to be. I know I was disappointed in Goodbye, despite a few really great lyrics

You're not going to convince him, friend. Flavdave's been a S/T hater from the beginning.
Don't worry, there are many of us who love that record and the songs on it. Come Back was the hightight of Camden 06, night one and it is hard for a new song to take that position.

I do hope later on down the road we get some studio versions of Ed doing these. Even if they are demo form. I'm sure we are in for an emptying of Ed's vaults over the next 20 years :D
