Just finished watching "Dead Man Walking", and ofc. was disappointed about the non-presence of Ed's "Dead Man".
BUT: At the very beginning of the movie (during the credits/titles thing) there was a song played, one I've never heard before. The voice sounded very much like Eddie's, but I couldn't be sure. It wasn't a very long song, but it did have a sort of "Vedder feel" to it. Does anyone know which song I'm rambling about, and if it is infact Mr. Vedder that's singing?

never seen the movie, but im pretty sure ed did a song called face of love for the soundtrack.

accually i think ed did write dead man for the movie, but bruce also wrote a song called dead man walking(i think) and they went with bruce's version instead.
i accually have a downloaded version of trouble and at the end of it i guess ed is about to play dead man because he starts jokeing about it, he says(jokeingly) that the guys with the movie said that the had to go with bruce's version because he has senority.

Actually, I didn't see more than about half the movie, wish I could've seen the rest, seemed like a good movie. So I didn't catch Long Road
And to the people mentioning Act of Love, I had a listen and that sounds like the one. Thanks for you help! I knew I'd know Ed's voice when I hear it..

two soundtracks are available. a "score" which contains the full versions of Face of Love & Long Road and the "regular" soundtrack which contains edited versions.. Both songs were recorded with Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn (RIP).. If you enjoy vocal talent buy ANY of Nusrat's records.

I didn't like the film, seems like a piece of propaganda to defend murderers to me.

Are you nuts. This is a movie where you wanted the murderer to be innocent all movie and were just waiting till he was proved innocent. Then you find out the guy is guilty and you are like disgusted. WTF man in no way is this movie propaganda to defend murderers.
I didn't like it cause it was really depressing. Well I thought it was well done but it left me with a bad feeling.

Not "Act of Love"...."Face of Love"! "Act of Love" is from the Mirrorball record they did with Neil Young.
Also, interestingly enough, when I first saw Dead Man Walking on DVD, "Long Road" was used in the end credits, but when I saw it on TV, they used the Bruce Springsteen song. "Dead Man" WAS written for the movie, but Bruce Springsteen had already given "Dead Man Walking" to Tim Robbins, so it wasn't included on the soundtrack.
