my wife-to-be (i refuse to use the word fiancee, it's just too damn gay) has agreed to postpone our honeymoon from july 2nd-8th until july 15th-21st so that we can go to the pearl jam shows in san fransisco... we had planned on going to SF for the honeymoon the day after we get married (july 1st), but she has agreed to wait so we can see the greatest band known to man (well, this man)... on top of it all, her favorite holiday is July 4th and she was looking forward to spending our honeymoon over independence day in such a cool place, instead she gets the 4th in peoria, illinois
now, i better get some tix
anyway, i thought she deserved some recognition, and this is as good a place as any... god bless'er

Congrats on getting married...she sounds like an amazing woman. Not because she's so willing to postpone the honeymoon for Pearl Jam, but because she's so willing to marry you.
Just kidding. That's a great story and I only hope that someday I can meet a woman as understanding.

My wife to be needed a huge amount of effort from my part to show her how good this band is
I made her Cds with the soft ones, the happy ones and some covers and the likes (she doesn’t like the rockers) I explained to her some of the lyrics, mentioned their high involvement on charities, low profile on TV and Videos and so forth
Now she likes them. Not LOVE them but she likes them a lot and can recognize how good they are!!!
She actually has some Cds in her car for me to hear when I’m with her….….I was ready to dump her ….. jajajaja

she sounds awesome
my "wife to be" booked a hotel and car for us to see both chicago shows and she just gave the okay for cincy today.
i think it all started after i showed her touring band 2000 again a couple weeks ago. she likes watching ed dance with the sign language chick on gtf. i think she imagines herself dancing with ed or something. ah well, whatever does it

a good friend of mine had to miss the two 03 msg shows cuz of his honeymoon. I think he's still a little pissed at his wife. I'm missing the philly shows this year cuz of my 1 year anniversary. You may have found the greatest woman on the planet who isn't a member of this board
don't fuck it up

thats exactly how my wife is. She definitely doesn't love them but she likes a lot of their stuff now and is willing to go to as many shows as I want to go to. She will be attending 4 shows with me in May and June which is awesome!

great news, my wife was not too sure when we first met and she found out I had 100's of Pearl jam Cd's and VCD's, she thought I was trapped in 1992 and the only person in the entire world that was that big of a fan. Now she knows I'm probably just the biggest fan in our hometown. Thanks to this board etc... I am going to send her this link as well.
She gets it now and will hopefully attend the Summerfest shows with me! Like most she does not LOVE them and will not abandon our month old son at the time of the Chicago shows in May but she is letting me attend both of them. She definetly respects the band and could name pretty much any tune.
