One of my friends, who vaguely like PJ previously (he had Ten and Yield only, so at least he had good taste), is coming to Boston II with me in May. I convinced him to download vitalogy last year, but he didn't much like it save a few songs. i convinced him yesterday to get No Code, and judging by his lastfm he is giving it the first listen through right now.

I have a feeling No Code is gonna be his favorite album, based on what else he listens to.

Of course, I think the live show is what will do it for him. I didn't know much Pearl Jam before I went to Boston III in 2003, but after that night I bought every album and listened to PJ almost exclusively for a few months. the live show is what got me hooked.

My friends didn't believe the greatness that is Pearl Jam. Until about three days ago when they heard WWS in aerobics class. They've been asking me to send it to them ever since... Poor deprived little children...

My 'friend' thought Pearl Jam were shit. I played him their songs on a few car trips and poker nights and he still thinks they are shit

My friend Jeff was kind of a Pearl Jam fan before I met him (his favorite band is RHCP). One day we were at the gym and he asked me what I was listening to, and I told him PJ. I let him listen for a while and he liked the songs, so I ended up letting him borrow the albums that he didn't already have (post No Code). That was about 2 years ago and now he says that when they come to town he's going with me. :naughty:

I have a friend that likes Johnny Cash. So I burned a cd for him with 25 minutes to go(from Benaroya) plus a bunch of other songs from PJ that I thought he might enjoy.

the only pearl jam fan I've ever made was my younger brother (9 years younger) so as soon as he was old enough to really understand what music was about he was listening to Pearl Jam and REM

I'm heading off to bed. Can someone who's staying up and feeling ambitious do a search to see if we have threads like this? I'd be shocked if we didn't.

I don't give a fuck if my friends like Pearl Jam or not. I'll vouch for the band, but if a particular person doesn't like them, they can fuck off. It's their loss.

Get your friend high with your pot so they must listen to what you want to listen to.
