I'll be perfectly honest. As a 10club member since 94, everything tourwise for the most part has run pretty smooth.

This way this tour is being handled is a debacle. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the new label, or if it's just a bad coincidence.

I'm inclined to think that it's the former. I'm sure Sony was a lot more organized and experienced than J Records/PJ in running the logistics of everything.

The bad thing is that all this is coming at the fan's expense. Basically, I have 1 day to decide if I want to spend $700 for my wife and I to fly to Denver + hotel + tickets for 2 concerts b/c I have no idea if they are coming within 10 hours driving distance from me (New Orleans).

I still love the band, but all of this is extremely upsetting.

it probably sucks because your not in the area of a show. But that happens. I have to drive 1 hour and 25 minutes away with traffic to New Jersey. How do you think I feel. Plus i really couldn't decided wether to go to the june 1st or june 3rd show.

i know you're being sarcastic, but think about it....on every other tour, this area has not been ignored (save No Code (I think)).

Either way, I'll I'm asking for is to know whether or not they plan on coming here. If the answer is no, then fine...I'll make the plans to go somewhere else. But if I spend $1000 to go somewhere and find out they're playing in Houston and Dallas, I'm gonna be pissed.

All of this piecemealing of show announcements with such a short reaction time to buy tickets is killing everyone.

How much notice did they give fan club members for past tours? I forget.

to the bands defense, isn't it reasonable not to go New Orleans for economical reasons, such as not being able to fill a decent size arena?

No, not at all. But Atlanta, Dallas, Birmingham and Houston are all within reasonable driving distance from here and places they seem to play on every tour.

Yes that is reasonable, but I wasn't specifically talking about New Orleans. See previous response.

Why don't you think they will play those places? I'm sure Dallas and Atlanta are going to see a show some point on this YEAR long tour.

it was also mail order only, and the 2003 tour was a freaking pain in the ass with the money orders etc

it amazes me people expect to be able to go to 5, 10, 15, 20 shows, and yet, it seems like they haven't saved dime one in anticipation of said fact

I'll take the current system thank you

I'm going to 3 shows, I love the 10 club..... and I still think the way this tour has been handled is a joke.

I really think they'll announce a southern leg too, but why wouldnt they say it. You know they've been getting bad responses from people.... yet they've made no mention of a Southern Leg.

The point is that in the past, we knew the entire schedule so it was better to plan. The YEAR long tour has not been confirmed by anyone.

Am I the only one who is seeing an issue with this?

I beleive Mike said it in an interview with a radio station in LA.

The band shows up, the arena is filled, they get paid, next town.

They see no problem.

I agree that the way they have been announcing shows and the lead time for ticket buying has been pretty crappy. However, I wouldn't be willing to shell out an extra 800 bucks for plane tickets to go see them. I got lucky on these announcements as I was going to take a trip to Seattle anyway in the last week in July. I will also drive 6 hours to Cincy for the show in June, but that's only because it's a Saturday show.

I know its easier for people who are going to shows to say relax, but I honestly think they will make it down south eventually (although I may not make it to these shows because of going to the other two). But if it weren't for some serendipity, I wouldn't be spending money on plane tickets to any of the other shows. My advice is to save your money, wait it out, and buy a couple of boots to hold you over.
