Seriously, the new album is less than a month away and I'm not seeing any interviews, etc. I've been reading tons of stuff about the new Red Hot Chili Peppers record, which comes out later... just curious--- where's all the pearl jam-related press?

It should be coming soon. I think they delayed sending review copies out to hold off on the record leaking.

so by tomorrow we should expect something new and insightful from some reporter who probably thought they broke up and who's favorite artist is Beyonce, I read one blurb that said they were back from a 3 1/2 year hiatus, if they were on hiatus would they have been touring so much

It'll all come once Mike busts out a sweet ass solo on SNL.

Something tells me were going to see some articles about the return of the big 90's bands in Pearl Jam, Tool, and RHCP. They did something last year in one magazine about The Mars Volta and Queens of the Stone Age bringing rock back, so maybe something like that.

I wonder how they'll do with All Music Guide. They are pretty good to Pearl Jam. Riot act and binaural each got four stars (although no code got 3 and yield got 2.5)

saw the chilli peppers video this morning.....i'm pretty sure they're trying to be funny with it, but what the fuck?! the concept for it has been played out sooooo many times.....i hope pearl jamm puts a new one out there that's a little more interesting than the i am mine vid............and as for press, with the stuff thats on this album, and this seems dumb to say, but people should really take notice. i hope something new comes out soon!

I thought the video was well done but the song was just mediocre to me.

like nirvana in bloom, or that band that's since disappeared, the guys are dressed up like other recognizable bands...
at one point it looks like a warrent/ motly crue video, then its a danzig concert, then its nirvana unplugged, then its the chillis for a little, then its like the ed sullivan show (black and white)..... ya know what i mean?
i think frusciante (sp?) makes the song listen-able, i guess he really does wail this album....but i've never really liked kiedis's lyrics....after blood sugar sex magic that is

I've never really been into the chili peppers at all, except for a handful of songs here and there. I suppose I wish them well provided they don't upstage pearl jam

Not that this is a RHCP forum or anything...but Kiedis has moments of transcendance as a lyricist. It gets lost sometimes in the bluster, but he's got a real knack for poetic images that evoke emotions.
