The UK music press is odd. They operate a Communist style, where they tell kids what is cool to listen to, and what is not. If you're not part of that 'hip' scene, then it is cool to knock that band. NME and Q are pretty mainstream, and cover a wide spectrum of music. Something like Kerrang is more specialised in what it covers, and I believe they gave it a good review.

I just like to make fun of British music journalism, frankly i could give a rats ass how they feel about albums that i like. If i actually paid attention to what music critics thought, i'd be adrift in a sea of Kayne West albums.

for a while there, it seemed like every other week NME had a "best new album"... and my brother-in-law would always run out and buy it and be totally pissed off to find out it sucks... now i can't even remember a single name of any of those bands, because they have already gone the way of the buffalo... (the same will happen with the arctic fuckin' monkeys...)

Q magazine had "Hit me baby one more time" by Britney as one the best songs ever recorded in their songs compilation, and the top 2 records ever made in their records compilation were both by Radiohead....thats all one needs to know about that particular rag. Does anyone know how the new record did in Uncut? They like REM, so I have given them a few breaks, but I have pretty much seen them as ridiculous too, lets see how they did in that mag though.
They probably got the new tool album the same day.
Seriously, I just listend to it for the first time.........
It made me totalty forget about pearl jam's new album. It's impossible to compare the two, and I never will. However, I couldnt imagine having to reveiw any album right after hearing this monster.
