 Post subject: Eddie's Microphone Question

Does ANYONE know what type of microphone it is that Eddie is using on WWS and the rest of "Pearl Jam" to record? I saw it in the promoitional video on theskyiscrape.com but can't tell what type it is. Thanks!

You're probably thinking of the SM58 which is the industry standard vocal mic. And the SM57 is the standard instrument mic.

SM58 is the standard live vocal mic. The SM7 has a little bit more low end response and it often used on bass guitars and for radio DJs - and clearly dudes with baritones.

For studio recording I hear he uses a vintage Elam 251 microphone.
