Uh, I haven't seen the inside yet, but according to the mag screen shot posted at the Drudge Report,

http://www.drudgereport.com/flash4.htm

the new Rolling Stone's cover has in the right hand corner, "Pearl Jam-Best Album in Ten Years".

Fuck yeah!!

it should be 8, because it's not as great as Yield for me, no way in hell.

If that is the case, whoever wrote that would be wrong.

because of yield, yes, but i won't argue with rolling stone if they say no code is pearl jam's best. respectable.

I wouldn't either, because No Code is my favorite PJ album. But I don't think the new one is as good as Yield. This is a premature opinion that could change once I hear the official release, but that's highly unlikely.

Actually, Best in ten years doesn't imply they think No Code is THE best, only that this is the best since No Code. The morons at RS probably still think Ten is the best PJ has ever done. But then again, I use RS to wipe my hairy ass, so what do I know.

It's hard for me to chose a 'best' album, but one things for sure: Vitalogy-No Code-Yield is the best three consecutive albums in a row by any band.

yes, i agree. what it does mean is that they think this album is better than yield-binaural-riot act. i haven't heard it so i can't argue.

Who is this Rolling Stone guy?... did Mr. Stone also review all of the other Pearl Jam albums?... the exact same Mr. Stone?

it's not science, but it's good to know that they'll be giving positive feedback... anyone remember if PJ got the front page for Riot Act?... or what it said?

the people at rolling stones are idiots. It's clearly the best PJ record in 12 years.

Sean Wilentz, the guy who is apparently writing that Bush article, is VERY smart. that should be a good read.

I think Pearl Jam is better than No Code easily.

And is just a little bit better than Yield.

Love this album.

I still have the issue when they reviewed No Code...Rolling Stone LOVED it and gave it 4 stars. So they're sayng best since No Code.

Reading Rolling Stone for its political articles is like watching Fox News for news.

Agree with Stip. Definitely better than Yield, not as good as Vitalogy. A close call for me re No Code. Need a bit more time.
