Do you think of Soundgarden or Pearl Jam? He is now the band's longest tenured drummer, and he is now the first drummer to appear on 3 albums (not counting Irons on Stupidmop). Yet, I still think of him as Soundgarden's drummer, and if they ever reunited, I would want him to be back behind the kit.

That's not to say that Matt isn't kicking ass with PJ though. But like you said, in my mind he is "Soundgarden's drummer."

I would say Jack Irons and Matt Cameron are both Pearl Jam to me. Soundgarden is history and never excited me that much with lyrics or musically.

Pearl Jam, but only becuase I was too young when both were in their primes. I love Soundgarden though, although ina posthumous way.

PJ. He has contributed mightily to PJ. Someone once said that he saved PJ. I laughed at the time, but it might be true. Seems to me he and Ed are "close." It's probably a good thing that Ed has someone in the band to confide in. Say what you will about Matt, but from everything I have read, he seems like a level-headed family guy. I forgive him for Evacuation; better know as the worst PJ song ever.

I got into soundgarden after Pearl Jam and by the time Matt was already drumming with PJ so I think of PJ when Matt is mentioned

SOUNDGARDEN. He fit much better with them. Superunknown was just epic. As a matter of fact, I think I'll spin it now. Whatever happened to Kim Thayil?
