there are a few other images that get used a few times
waves and homes are two of them. I don't think any of these (or most of them) are accidents. They're being repeated for a reason.

So do you think it was deliberate to include this theme or was the image in Eds mind and he wrote it down?
I suppose this is getting at how you write a song. Do you think what to write or do you feel, they are two different things.
Both--I think that idea was on his mind and this was one common image he used to express it.
