How bizarre is this?

I was in Strawberries, and as always I perused the PJ section. Of all the weird things, I found a CD that was a string quartet tribute to Pearl Jam.

I just checked the website, and they have a buttload of these tributes even stranger than the PJ one. Nirvana, Slayer, Led Zeppelin, Tool, Limp Biscut (sp?), Jessica Simpson...each one more bizzare than the next.

The link to see the PJ tribute CD (Nirvana is on that page as well):

http://www.vitaminrecords.com/web/page. ... 6&catid=20

I almost bought it, but now that I see thay make a business of doing "tributes" I am glad I didn't.

Still, evenflow by a string quartet is awfully intriguing...

I've heard a symphonic version of 'Daughter'...I like it

not enough to buy a $14 cd tho

wow....a NIN tribute and the entire 'The Joshua Tree'

tempting, but too expensive

I have heard their version of Alive and it really didn't do much for me. The recordings were sparce and kind of lifeless in my opinion. I prefer the Symphonic Led Zeppelin or Who albums. If you haven't heard either of these I would check them out. You can't go wrong with the London Philharmonic! Hopefully one day PJ will get this treatment.

I have it, and 3 others (coldplay, incubus and matchbox 20) for naptime at work.
It's not for every day driving, hanging out listening, but for relaxation time/getting shit over on nosy managers, it's awesome.

this has been out for years... and all over these boards any time someone asks about using PJ as part of a wedding

it's perfect dinner music... you get to sing along and also get to see people enjoying the song but not really knowing where they know it from :)

I have it, and I have to say I think it completely sucks. The arrangements they do just dont do pj's music justice. That's not to say you COULD make arrangements that complement it well, but this particular tribute is aweful.

it was on the internet somewhere... I used to have it but I never listened to it that much. It was good, but the real stuff is much better.
