I wasn't a big fan of Boom on Riot Act. LBC was good, but everything else seemed a bit forced. When he plays the old songs live, I'm a little torn. I like what he adds to Crazy Mary, but on Red Mosquito I wish he would go back stage and smoke a joint.

On the new album, I think Boom has found a good spot. Not as over the top as Riot Act. Just subtle enough to really add some depth and atmosphere to some of the songs. I'm really digging Marker in the Sand and Wasted Reprise, which Boom is a big part of.

Are we 100 percent sure he's on the record?

I'm not, that's why I'm asking...or is there an in studio key boardist?

It's gotta be him.

I'm also wondering if he's the one on the keys on Inside Job...

Boom is like a referee in football. He is at his best when you don't notice him. In other words, he is great on this album because they don't wedge him in where he doesn't belong. It's only after a few listens that you realize he is there providing texture.

I love the end of Marker In The Sand, he really adds something to it. His work on Come Back is brilliant too.

Boom is the fucking worst, you can tell just by the high volume of "boos" you hear everytime he finishes an organ solo.... No I'm just kidding, Boom is the tits, I love that they added him into the mix. I especially like his shit on Save You, which I never noticed until recently. He really drives that song fuckers. And from what I heard on the new album, he is used to perfection. (Although Wasted Reprise is my least favorite song, but thats not Booms fault.) And I would guess that Mike plays keys on Inside Job, but thats a long shot.

No matter how you feel about Boom, all must be forgiven due to the end of Marker and the beginning of Inside Job.

Marker, Come Back, and Inside Job would sound comepletely different without him. Well, if that is him on Inside Job.

Sorry, I don't see the connection between Boom and the new album?

If it is indeed Mike playing the piano at the beginning of Inside Job, do you think we may actually see him behind the keyboard during the tour? i hope so, i wanna hear that intro live!
