No Code has a good amount of support on RM, but I think "I'm Open" in particular is unfairly maligned. To me, this song embodies the soul-searching theme of the entire album. I love the tinges of Eastern music and the wolf howls. What is the beef with "I'm Open"?
My general impression is that "I'm Open" is Pearl Jam's throwaway track, but why? Shouldn't "The Color Red" or one of the ridiculous filler tracks on Vitalogy fill that role first?

I'm not even saying I dislike The Color Red but it's like a 30 second long instrumental track. I feel like I'm Open has more value as a song than that or Foxy Mop. Just my opinion though.

You're absolutely right; It has more value.

It's very pretty with beautiful verses. It wears out its welcome though. One round of the chorus would have been enough.

i really like im open, i listened to it like five times the first time i heard no code, it was really cool because i was listening to that song at like 12:30 lying on my bed in the dark, and it was the perfect place to first hear the song... if i heard it in the car during the day i might not like it nearly as much

I hear ya. I like Ed spoken word songs. I'm Still Here is cool too.
I think Jack Irons brought the most to the table as far as songwriting by a PJ drummer goes. Either him or Abruz.
