Yes dude, don't get it... you never, EVER get something like that without an official licensed C.O.A. - anyone can look at PJ autographs & spend an hour trying to copy the style of each signature & sign it, then sell it on ebay for fuckloads, man... there's people making a LIVING that way practically

don't be so naive dude, cancel it- pull out, that's my honest advice

uhh, I just read that..., and

"This auction benefits People For the American Way, a non-profit non-partisan political organization committed to promoting political awareness, civic participation and providing legislators with the support they need to counter the agenda of the extreme right and protect against encroachments upon our freedoms and civil rights"

If this really was an organization... the chances of it coming with a COA are almost 100%, really, cancel it

Fucking show-off!

Why would you advertise for an auction that you want to win? I assume you would want as little people seeing it in order to keep the price low.

Can't conclude otherwise than it's your auction... Piss off!

Why would I? Why would anyone post a link to an auction he's winning that hasn't even ended yet? Why would anyone pay $400 for a printed poster with some signatures on it that doesn't even come with a COA (and even if it did come with a COA, would be fake anyway).

Some people are so naïve... :?

Yea, he's obviously naive as hell, but you don't have to be so rude to him, it's his money, what are you cussin him out for?

Well, I don't think he's the bidder on this one. I think it's his auction he's promoting... Why would he post it on here otherwise? He couls at least wait till the auction is over...

He also made the point of saying he had a lot of money... besides, you think posting the link on here could really make a difference? most of us look for PJ stuff on ebay anyway, I dont think it's his auction, i think he's showing off what he might win.. which is cool, really, it's fun to show off what PJ stuff you have to other PJ fans...

but considering theres no COA, this isnt anything to show off

Check the other offers by this seller. With the amount of personally signed items this seller has, my gut says it is a legit item, but on the other hand links to official ebay items for charity are always put up in the News section of PJ.com. I would wait until I saw it there to bid.

Yeah I never know what to say about these things. It's cool to have something signed but it's just too easy to fake everything.

Give me a couple of months and two computers and I can generate a "legit" autograph business out of my home. Seriously Ebay doesn't do a whole lot to monitor everything so you could be screwed.

I can understand your suspicion of this being fake, and it being the seller coming in here to promote it..

However, if you go to the organizations homepage and search for eBay, or simply go to http://auction.pfaw.org/index.html, you can read the following:

DON'T MISS OUT on People For the American Way's Annual Celebrity eBay Auction, where you can buy one-of-a-kind items and experiences — unforgettable holiday gifts — while supporting People For's ongoing efforts to help fight for democratic rights and freedoms! Skim some of the highlighted items below, or click the links above for detailed listings of our celebrity auction items...

Signed musical instruments from artists and bands like Simon and Garfunkel, Eagles, Stevie Nicks, Sting, Bob Weir, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Yellowcard, All American Rejects to Maroon 5, Yes, Blondie, Alanis Morissette, Goo Goo Dolls, Blue Oyster Cult, and many more.

Signed handwritten music lyrics by artists and bands such as Sarah McLachlan, Lucinda Williams, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, Aimee Mann, The Eels, k.d. lang, The Black Eyed Peas, Foetus, Hoobastank, Faith No More, Richard Marx, the Crickets, Dead Kennedys, and many many more.
Signed CD’s, album covers from Van Halen, Rod Stewart, James Taylor, Josh Groban, the Waterlillies, Styx, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Liz Phair, Korn, Fat Mike, Melissa Ethridge, Jackson Browne, Alison Krauss, the Bacon Brothers, Linkin Park, Death Cab for Cutie, Brian Wilson, Moby, Eric Clapton, Chicago, and many more.

Rare gold/platinum albums from: Joan Jett, Barenaked Ladies, Madonna and Linkin Park.

Signed posters of Belly & Tanya Donelly, Enya, Melissa Etheridge, Smokey Robinson, System of a Down, Pixies, Michael Bublé, Offspring, Supergrass, The Crystal Method, Drive-By Truckers, Pixies, Pearl Jam, Peaches, and many more.

So between this and the other items this seller is offering, I'd be confident that this is the real deal.

It's true, they don't monitor anything unless someone complains about it. They're too busy stopping auctions for grilled cheese sandwiches with the Virgin Mary on it. Bootlegs are sold left and right, fake autographs, etc. My g/f bought an autograph once on ebay...can't say for sure it it's 100% real. It's a signed photo by Eddie, she got it for $10 so she figured it was worth it. It included a digital photo of the person who sold it handing Eddie the photo outside of the Ed Sullivan theater. It was the only one he had on ebay. What I'm normally skeptical about is 1 guy selling 15 of the same photo with the same signature on it. If the signature is really really neat and you can make out all the letters, it's probably fake cause stars rush their way to sign things. Eddie has been known to draw just a wave.

Well I am friends with the original and he is not the person putting the auction up for bids. Actually he was outbid at 500 and i thought it could possibly be fake and told him last night..

so whoever said it was him trying to promote his auction can piss off

so glad the other board is back where you dont have some asshole questioning everything you do on this board.. Tons of nice people on here but there is one in every crowd i guss
actually suprised it wasn't locked by the mods.. but the mods are probably actually spending their time right now at a better board

Yeah, it's real.

The one starting this topic didn't know it though and that's my whole point. I'm just trying to warn for people offering autographs and bootlegs and stuff on eBay since 99% is fake. Especially when people are willing to pay up to $400-%500 for these things I'm questioning the world about its craziness...

And yes, I do think he's a show-off... "Yes, I placed a bid of $400, yes that's right, I have enough money..."
I still don't understand why he needed to post that over here...

You really should show everyone after you win it.
