Back in 1990 when pearl jam formed, instead of ten, they recorded riot act, and it was released the same day as ten everything the same. Do you think pearl jam would've been as big?

And what if Binural took the place of vs and yield the place of Vitalogy...etc...

Would things be diffrent?

Would the elitists hate riot act and adore ten?

Would they have more or less fans now if ten was released in 2002?

Interesting thing to think about.

umm, i guess ill take a stab at answering this. its hard to imagine replacing riot act w/ ten b/c of the way the band has evolved over the years. i see each album as a growth, so trying to picture the releases backwards seems like they are digressing. i dunno if that makes much sense to anyone else, but thats how i see it.

but to answer your questions, riot act would not have been popular in 1991. maybe save you or some of the faster ones, but not i am mine or thumbing my way. if they went from riot act to binaural they probly would have been dropped from your label. thats just how i see it.
