(Our Sticky about the Message Pit is gone or I would have posted this there)

For those of you who are not aware due to this site being down at the time; Pearl Jam's Message Pit was back up and running Thursday (11/18/04) night around 10:15 pm. A handfull of us were there posting like mad fans. The Color Scheme was the same but it was an updated vBulletin Version 3.0.1. It is mind boggling that it is now closed.... :? :?:

Did you have to re-register?

I didn't know it was back up. I have stopped checking everyday since it has been down so long.

Everything was still there. All of my old PM's and all of the old threads and posts. The weird thing (which I assume it will be resolved) was that when I was not logged into the Pit...i could see everything..all of the old threads and posts. When I logged in....they were not visible...only the new threads we created were visible. Does this make sense? But I was able to reply to an old thread by pulling it up while not being logged in, then I just hit the reply button and it asked me to log in...I replied and then it pulled that old thread up with the new ones. So I know the db is intact.

Yeah, what you saw when you weren't logged in was most likely the archive. You know how there's that little link down at the bottom? They're probably going to have it archived and start the board new and fresh.

There was a setting in the 'options' section to change how many posts/threads to display. Mine was set to "Use board default", which I assume was to show only new posts. When I changed that to "show all posts", then the many pages and pages of threads showed up in each forum.

So since this was an option on the user accounts, it would only apply if you were logged in. If you were logged out it would just show everything.

I dunno...it wasn't a read-only archive...I was able to reply to the old threads...all of my PM's were still there when I was logged in...wouldn't our old PM's be archived also :?:

There was stuff up on page 1 wth a last post date of 9/24/04...it just appeared to be everything beyond page 1 that was not visible while logged in.

Plus, when I was not logged in I was seeing everything..old and new posts as one board together.

I Was Surprised To Be In The Message Pit Friday Morning 11/19 (5:15AM)

I Was Only In The Pit Maybe 10 Minutes Before I Had To Leave For Work

Finally The Waiting Was Over For Us!

The Board Was Down By The End Of My Day Friday, I'm Sure It Will

Be Back Up Soon!

If this is true, it doesn't bode well for RM...

I'm not a synergy girl, but I hope it goes back up for you guys.

I hated it when RM went down!

They were probably just testing things the other night. I bet it's up properly on Monday.

Since the board was down, my membership ran out because no one could get on to the GOODS section, I've wrote them about but they have not gotten back to me yet about it. So I hit the renew membership button and paid the money, I look today and it gave me a new number, WTF, it's 333, 000, something like that. Anyone know if this could get resolved and I could get my old much lover number back :x ?????????
