I know this isnt a great thread or anything, this is just for curiousity... aside from the obvious ones, which people have you heard insult PJ?

I've heard P.J. Harvey do it, calling them "fake alternative", & I think the singer or guitarist from Interpol did but I never read it myself, & I know Mark Mcgrath of Sugar Ray has... I'm just curious to see who else if anyone knows

so I know who to add to my hit list

I'm surprised to hear about McGrath and Harvey, I heard Mark McGrath go on and on about how great and groundbreaking Vedder and PJ were one time on VH1 and Harvey seems like she would be from the genre that would love them, all the other 'grrrrl power' acts seem to. That douchebag from Nickleback, after saying that PJ was one of his influences, said that he 'didnt know what kind of music they play anymore' which may or may not have been a diss.

Bon Jovi made a video years ago that had a Vedder impersonator in it - they were making fun of Vedder's earnestness I believe.

Yeah Chad Kruger definitely meant to insult them with that comment, he also insulted Neil Young.

I'm not surprised PJ Harvey insulted them... She seems fake to me, like shes trying too hard to fit into the image of "indie", whereas Sleater-Kennay (spelling?) dont.

Yeah but Bon Jovi on VH1 said Eddie was a great singer & all that.. He seemed to really like them.

It was on the 100 best bands of hard rock thing

Screw Bongiovi. On a related (side)note, their new song is dreadful.

i remember back in the day when ICP was big....my friend had bought the promo for their next cd (as stupid as that sounds), and on the cd they said something along the lines of "on the new shit, we're gonna do songs with eddie vedder, and go er-eree-er together

just imagine them making a really stupid voice on that er-eree-er part

funny thing is is that, Violent J was actually a huge pearl jam fan, but decided to make fun of eddie anyway

Death From Above 1979 said something in an interview about people want to go out on Saturday nights, not just sit at home lsitening to Evenflow. There was a thread about it on here a little while ago..

Unfortunately, I had to see these guys live when I saw NIN + QOTSA..they made my ears bleed.

Its funny to me, I hadnt heard most of these before....but if I had to pick the worst bands and acts around; Bon Jovi, Nickleback, ICP, Creed, PJ Harvey and Sugar Ray would be on my list. The knowledge that these people actually criticized them makes me laugh. The Cobain one obviously stings, but these others couldnt possibly have less credence!!

The thing that a lot of very stupid people dont realize about Cobains opinion, is that he was around for Pjs first 2 albums... They now have 8.. he was around for only 1/4 of the albums

Yet people act as if they know he'd still hate PJs new stuff to this day... Besides..

We all know Kurt Cobain didnt hate Pearl Jam's music

He liked Aerosmith, but hated Pearl Jam because they were too "stadium-like"...? Mm no, i dont think so, it was pure jealousy only.

HAHA, I know exactly what you are talking about and I was going to post this. I thought that was funny. There is a recording floating around the internet of Violent J singing Small Town that is really funny.

ICP is a little guilty pleasure of mine and they do some hilarious shit sometimes. But yeah...props to J for being down with PJ.

yeah he said they were too mainstream....but i don't think kurt had anything to be jealous about, seeing that he's still a bigger star than eddie vedder (always was and will be) which is pretty dumb in my opinion
