Yes, The Band. If you havne't heard it, go to the MMJ forum and they have a good recording of it for download. It was so fantastic that when my wife and I heard it, we decided to drive up to New Jersey this weekend. That and the monster shows Pearl Jam is putting on  .

It's a great song by The Band. It's on the Northern Lights Southern Cross album. Good record, but their best albums are Music from Big Pink and the self-titled The Band album.

Classic stuff. They were previously known as the Hawks before they were grabbed by Dylan and featured as his band during the infamous electric tour of '66.

Essential:

Music from Big Pink
The Band
Stage Fright

Agreed Oboogie!! The ophelia on Northern Lights is very funky!!!

Thanks for the heads up guys....I was really hoping that it was The Band's version! I'll check out the recording.

Long live Danko!!! One of the best sad song singers in Rock & Roll!!!

Hell yeah!
Danko was the shit (RIP :( )

For those who haven't seen it, check out "the Last Waltz", it's a classic concert film with "the Band" firing on all cylinders. Plenty of guest appearances (Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Ronnie Hawkins, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Dr John, and MANY more) and it was filmed by Martin Scorcese(sp?)
Dig it!

I love Danko's style on display in the Last Waltz - he's like a happy little kid bouncing around with his bass.

Back on topic - edved & jimjames make nice singin' partners on this one - kinda reminds me of ed&beck way back when.

you have to add The Last Waltz (complete box set) so worth it, they play sooo many different styles of music

The Last Waltz DVD is also tied for the best music DVD every made (along with Zeppelin's DVD, pick the Last Waltz DVD up too... a must

they are one of my favorite bands of all time, to hear this song at the Continental shows is reason enough for me to get in early for them...
