"When Pearl Jam first began (guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament founded the band after singer Andrew Wood of their previous band, Mother Love Bone, died of a heroin overdose) they were lumped in with the dozens of bands that sprung up from Seattle like weeds as just another Nirvana wannabe. Although their sound was remarkably different from their Northwestern predecessors some people still cannot use Pearl Jam in a sentence without evoking the spirit of Nirvana"
What a fucking hypocrite, lol.

its was a good pearl jam review but he didn't speak too much about the album other than what songs are on it. Most of the article was about pearl jams carreer, which he held a bias on. if i were to grade it i would give it a B-

Being a greatest hits album, there wasn't much new material to analyze. Greatest hits albums are a reflection on the career of a band, so I thought the review was appropriate.

awesome review!! its great to finally see a reveiwer with a bit of Love for PJ
and i love the line about the deaf critics
Agreed...too many reviews of the band have been neagative in the past. Plus, the deaf critics line definately rings true. How many times have true PJ fans complained that the comparison between them and Nirvana are ridiculous?? And I love Nirvana...but the 2 bands NEVER sounded anything alike!
