I don't understand what people are thinking sometimes when they title threads. Wouldn't it have made more sense to call it "Angel Lyrics Help" or something like that?

He's singing from the point of view of an angel. That was a text or story ed found somewhere inspired the lyrics. It was about 2 angels who elope from heaven for hell I think.

is the lyric mind? I thought it was mine.
I'm sure 2ft does this better but either way celestial state is refering to heaven, or something similar, with the peace and tranquility you'd expect to find there. The idle hymns of praise lyric gives it this lazy sunday feel of everyone just hanging out casually celebrating their good fortune to be in heaven, whereas the singer doesn't have that luxury. He's still out there fighting for what's worth praising. It isn't just handed to him. One gets the impression that the good fortune of the others was bought with his blood and sweat.

Thanks, this is better than the link. I'm not sure if its "mine" or "mind" though.

both work, which is kind of unusual in cases like this.

The lyrics also remind me of the Wim Wenders film "Der Himmel über Berlin".
Summary from IMDB:
Quote:
This Wim Wenders film centers around the story of two angels wandering in a mixture of post-war and modern Berlin. Invisible to humans, they nevertheless give their help and comfort to all the lonely and depressed souls they meet. Finally, after many centuries, one of the angels becomes unhappy with his immortal state and wishes to become human in order to experience the joys of everyday life. He meets a circus acrobat and finds in her the fufillment of all his mortal desires. He also discovers that he is not alone in making this cross over, and that a purely spiritual experience is not enough to satisfy anyone.
