East Rutherford 2, outside the box office, around 4 PM...
Someone from the venue put braclets on the arms of about 40 people,
He said to comeback at 6 PM to buy tickets released from the box office.
They waited for hours, they were told to continue waiting,
but no tickets were ever released...
and when show time approached, many of those fans did not have any tickets.
While they were waiting in line...
I helped score a couple tix ($10-$50) for some of the fans around 8-8:30,
but because of 1 or 2 people who were complaining to security, all day,
about certain fans being scalpers...
security forced me to go into the show or they said i'd be arrrested.
To the twenty or so friends of mine who got stuck outside during the show...
i am sorry, i wish i could have helped you out more/longer...
The ticket situation at the show was terrible...
the real scalpers were able to buy up all the extra tickets
and sold them at well over a $100 per ticket...
That would have never happened if those "rats" in line
didn't contine to complain to security about who they thought was scalping...
Next time, be sure to thank the guys in the front of the purchase tickets line,
for screwing over the fans and actually supporting the real scalpers...
The point of this thread is to make the fans aware of how the purchase ticket line works on the day of the show... it used to work well, it still does sometimes, but you are taking a risk, it becomes more of a risk as show time approaches, so don't rely on it for too long...

I saw those people - they even tried to make 10C members wait there to go in and pick up their tickets. It was very poorly run. I bitched and eventually got in (ahead of a lot of people - sorry bout that) and when I finally made it inside I found the holy grail - show posters for sale! I bought 2 posters (one for a friend at my tailgate), picked up my tickets and went back outside until about 8:30. I was able to store my poster in the car AND not have to sacrifice any tailgate time. It was about as perfect as you could hope for. Oh yeah - the show kicked ass too...

PJEV2003, and i mean this in the nicest way possible, what do you do that I couldn't do myself by walking up to people outside a venue with extra tickets?

Man, you sure have a lot of "friends." Every show, you're out hustling up dozens of tickets for all your friends who never bothered to get tickets in the first place. How charitable.

some people are not that outgoing, they are shy,
and affraid to ask/try to score a ticket from a stranger...
plus i have bargaining skills...
i can usually lower the price to around face...
people from the venue kept telling the fans to continue to wait in line,
they said tickets will be released soon, they kept pushing the time back,
first 6, then 6:30, etc.
so there was no way for the fans in line to score any tix while they were still waiting in line...
also, if i have a great single...
i would trade it (with some money) to someone for a good pair of tix,
or if you are a shorter person and you got stuck with floor seats...
i would trade my side stage tix for your floor tix,
shows sell out fast...
ebay and brokers are not the best way to get good seats,
some people do make the last minute decision to attend the shows too.
some of you would fit right in on the other boards...
