^ this... THIS is what eddie vedder solo tours need to start looking like.

enough of this walking the cow, corona box, tape machine crap.

Actually, this.

The prospect of these guys making a record would be significantly more exciting than another Pearl Jam album.

oh C'mon. It would be quick fast punk tunes. The playing would be fun to listen to but the songs would not hold up. Be honest here.

Based on how well Pearl Jam's previous two records compare to Vedder's...?

I really cant see th combo o musicians to make something more than just a quick record. Trust me - I love the idea of them together but i do not feel they would spend the time to write something compeltely unique. I feel as though that is not the way vedder would approach such a project. or any of them - as a group. It would be a vehicle for vedder to be the lone guitarist and play with a bassist like flea.

Hey, i would love for them to prove me wrong but I dont see it to be anything other than a vehicle for a quick spin off record of punkish rockish tuneage of sortish and shit.

I don't know, strat. Even if the songs were only average, how are average Vedder songs plus Jack Irons going to be any worse than whatever the band churn out at this point?

Plus, imagine a tour! Those dudes playing Long Road, MFC, Parting Ways, I Am Mine, Leatherman, Off He Goes, In My Tree, Corduroy, Immortality even RVM or Porch, etc. You and me both know we'd be prostrating ourselves on the ground in the face of the sheer awesomeness unfolding on stage before us.

immortality, specifically the outro/end jam would sound pretty empty with only 1 guitar

Sign me up for Team: Vedder, Irons, Flea.

I think we all love PJ, but for me, at this particular moment, I'd rather hear them than PJ.

I disagree that it would be all punk stuff too. If by punk you man groove, then I agree.

Jack Irons was their most interesting drummer, but unfortunately, their least durable.
