I consider Betterman, Elderly Woman, Black, and Daughter to be the original four singalongs of old-school Pearl Jam. By that I mean also that they have been played at most shows very consistently for the last 10+ years.
What songs of the four still inspire you in a live setting? What songs of the four do you think are stale? Would you care if any of them were buried forever?

Put Betterman away for like 2 years at least, even Ed's is sick of singing it...
Still love SIFL tag though
Black was great in East Ru. and the We belong together tag works....
I like hearing Daughter the best b/c you could never be sure what your going to get and its still exciting..
I thoroughly enjoy all except Daughter. Maybe one day I'll be into Daughter again. For now, I stick to the studio version. The tags aren't bring anything new to teh table these days.

First off, let me say that if I'm bringing someone who has never seen Pearl Jam live and may be more of a casual fan to the show then I am hoping to hear all four of these songs.
But for me, I can definitely do without daughter and better man. Small Town only really works for me when it is early in the show for the simple fact that it can really set the night for good crowd interaction and singing.
Black would be the one of this group that I hope for every time I see the band. Such a beautiful song. Great sing along (almost a scream along) and usually an excellent solo from Mike. Ed bringing back 'we belong together' is just icing on the cake.

I love EWomen when everyone screams ".....helloooooooooo" I love it that the girls at the show get all touchy/feely during Betterman, I love Ed's voice in Black live, he still hits the passion when during the verse, "...I know someday you'll have a beautiful life...." and I love the tags on Daughter. So I dont want any to go and actually miss each song when it is skipped at a show I attend.
all of those im still strong on except elderly woman...doesnt excite me and when im listening to VS lately i find myself skipping it, same with on boots...betterman is always great to me..and the daughter tags are incredible and save it for later on betterman. and black is black...always a perfect singalong

How about Even flow?
i think you could make a case for anything on the opening five of ten

but i could go for the rest of my live shows without hearing black, elderly woman, evenflow, wishlist, porch and last kiss and i'd be in heaven.

These songs are at the very top of the list of songs I want to hear live. Elderly Woman is my favrorite Pearl Jam song and all the others are top 10 or borderline top 10
