Congratulations..you are now in charge of the PJ archive with Basecamp. We have already released the 93 Vegas show. What is next? How often would you release shows? Would you offer a new show during this break between leg one & two? Would you only release archive shows when they are not on tour? Once a month? Once a year? Hmmm....

If it was up to me there would be a new show everyday.

Of course it isn't up to me, so what does it matter?

I'd release one show a month. People might buy 12 a year. More than that and you oversaturate the market and just encourage people to find them on torrent sites

im not sure if i would make it once a month, a tiny bit less, or a bit more. i agree with not wanting to 'oversaturate the market', especially since we are in the middle of a tour. but if it was done with REGULARITY, so that we could all look forward to something like "hey, the first tuesday of the month is coming up, that means we get a new pj archive show!!!"... i think that would be the best. or maybe always on the tenth of the month. something like that.

I like this. I dont like my chances of getting one of the old New Zealand shows, but that would be ideal. Maybe things like on the 10 year anniversary of a show or 5 years or whatever, release it on that day?

I'd just get 'em mixed and put up for download as fast as can be done without stressing on it, and let people pick them up when they want. The only reason to draw them out is to get people to buy more of them. I'd just as soon they all get put up there.

I still say I wish Neil and Pearl Jam would both just make their archives available in the format that basecamp uses now....rather than rarity packages and box sets, just put it all up there for whoever's interested. You might find that one of the songs you wouldn't have put on anything is something everybody loves and is excited about.

I like that idea.

The next show I'd release would be MSG 1998 when they finally played "Breath" (or) Randalls Island 1996.

All of the '94 tour would be next if I was in charge.

Once a month would be nice. They could offer a year membership where you get access to all 12 releases for a reduced price or something.

I still can't decide how to release the archives, but I do know this-
1) No archive shows will be released while a tour is in progress.
2) Artwork will be provided with each show
3) Flac will be the only available format (for $9.99) -just so there could be a few more threads on 'How do I convert?'
4) I have way too much time on my hands to be thinking about this kind of stuff

I like both those ideas--the frequent downloader rate, and releasing old shows for promotional purposes.
