In the Vitalogy booklet, on the page for "Satan's Bed," there is a little note at the top right corner that says "Jimmy, Drums." Does anyone know what that's about?

Never have I seen the board stumped like this before, I think you deserve an award or something of the sort!
My guess, though it could be totally of base, is could it be that between Firing Dave A. and hiring Jack, that they could have had an sit in drummer or something of the sort? I was only 14 when this album was recorded, so my ability to get news on the band was limited to whatever the newspapers or magazines printed on them... just a hypothosis.

Jimmy was Dave A.'s drum tech. Dave A was either getting his appendix removed or was having some dental work done, I forget which when they were recording the track in Seattle. And Jimmy just did the drums and when the album finally came together they liked Jimmy's take and so he got the credit! Ed referenced it during a show. I think it was one of the St. Louis shows from '94, but I won't bet my life on it!

Hm, you probably have the wrong show, because according to TSIS, "Satan's Bed" wasn't played in St. Lious in 1994. In fact, I don't think there was a show in St. Lious that year, so you were probably just thinking of the wrong show. I'll look into it again later when I don't need to be preparing for finals. you're right that they didnt play it at STL, but they did play there on 3/14 and 3/15.
