How did you listen to that album? I ask because there is only one way to do so, which, if followed, will lead to a truly amazing listening experience. There are but a few things to pay attention to before pushing play:
1. listen to it on headphones. loud. a bit bassy.
2. sit or lie as comfortable as possible. no itching or anything is supposed to distract from the music. be sure you're able to move slightly, as in swaying back and forth.
3. be alone
4. don't expect anything.
5. push play.
6. close your eyes. don't open them until you hear someone abusing a type writer.

I forgot something... make sure you have enough time, don't listen to it when you're in a hurry or anything or worried about the time it's gonna take.

I've pretty much only listened to Binaural with headphones. They won't make god's dice or thin air any less boring. They do make Rival really cool

it's not only the headphones, it's the whole atmosphere you have to set up for yourself.

that was how I listened to the record the first time.

But then again I like Binaural a lot so I don't know if this is directed at me.

well only if "liking it a lot" is "disliking it" in your terms

Binaural and Riot Act are PJ worst albums.
Period.

Now we can get back to normal life........

There isn't a single Pj album i don't like, and Binaural is one of my favorites.

PJ should've just made a completely mellow/atmospheric record. If they had left the good harder rocking songs for a later record, it would have been perfect.

And by good hard rocking songs I don't mean God's Dice, Evacuation, or Rival. Those should have been on Lost Dogs.

Binaural is brilliant, people who put it in the same company as Riot Act are insane.

There was a long period of time where i couldn't listen to Binaural. I just felt that it was no good. Well, i don't know what happened since then but it is one my top 2 albums at this time. I don't love Thin Air, I don't like Evacuation lyrics but something about the album amazes me. Such a dark, atmospheric record.

Def a keeper!

Now i just hope i can say the same for Riot Act (and then PJ)

Have to support the Binaural thread. Playing it right now. No headphones necessary, just a good stereo and plenty of volume. Love the production on this. Pushes very hard but very detailed. Probably more of a muso's album than any of their others. You have to know how to listen.
