What's awaiting Pearl Jam next year...

1. Another tour leg (US south?)
2. Recording another album next year
or 3. Nothing...just another year long vacation

They'll come to this nice guitar festival we have here. It's a beautiful place, they'd love it.
Just a dream...

I'd put money on the idea that, aside from a possible small addition to the tour, the band will take a few years off again and the next record will have nearly as big a gap as the last one did.

What I believe they should be doing, though, is treating this as the beginning of a new career. They should get a new record out, add just a leg or so to the tour, and do some more TV and even some in-studio radio stuff. If they're hoping to rekindle public interest, and become a band people see in the present tense instead of the past, they need to treat themselves as such. One radio hit and a handful of TV appearances certainly don't accomplish all that, as sales have shown.

I am just praying they play anywhere in the US again next year. I could not see them in the first two legs, but I plan to road trip for at least 2 weeks wherever in the States they decide to play, if they do...

They should record another album since their last was mediocre, but knowing ed, they'll take two years off and then take another year to write another record.

Personally, I'd like to see them take a break, and Ed do a solo record with people on the album like neil young, townshend and springsteen.

Hopefully a new record within the next year or two, but I doubt it. Probably a year long vacation and then we'll see...

The advantage to taking a couple-few years off is that the die-hards (basically Pearl Jam fans in general now, I guess) will be frothing at the mouth and eager to buy as many tickets and everything PJ when they appear again.

On the other hand, I'd really hate for them to settle into this kind of pattern. McP's observation here is dead-on.

I'd rather have a new album.
