I suggest just going to a craft store and buy your own frame pieces. It's cheaper than getting custom frames done for those odd sized posters. Then you just need to get them to cut a piece of glass for you and its not too expensive.
I have found Costco to be spectacularly priced...they have very limited matting, but I don't like 'em anyways - just the basic frame and glass is good for me. Works out to about $35 a frame job (custom made to the print)
I just went and picked up my '03 Toronto from Michaels (using their 50% off) and still paid $173.00...its realy nice, aluminum frame, but man, that is so expensive...

I have heard a few horror stories of friends losing irreplaceable photos from Costco (i.e. rolls of film mysteriously "disappeared" and were never located). I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened to a rare poster. If I recall correctly, Costco ships out their special orders to be completed at alternate locations throughout the country. For example, when I had some PJ concert photos enlarged a few years ago, my negatives were shipped out from Calgary to a lab in Vancouver. The fact that your photos are left in a pick-up area where anyone can sort through a pile and claim your pictures as their own without proof of identity isn't the most secure procedure either.
I suppose procedures vary between stores, but I would avoid having any rare posters framed at Costco. Michaels, on the other hand, seems to frame in store, perhaps even while you wait, and the staff seems fairly knowledgeable. Perhaps the extra money is worth the peace of mind.

wow - good point, although I have not had any issues with Costco...
for framing .. i custom them over at kent's frame shop. they do a great job.
only got a few that have been framed, some are in the 18x24 itoya art profolio, some are in an acid free box sperated with acid free paper, and some are still in the tubes.
