Black was my favorite song until I Got Shit was released...nothing has taken its place.

Good thread. I Got Shit ftw.

Had to go with Black because of Mike's solo on stage.

I got shit should be not here.I think the song is about some kind of dreamer that cant reach in reality what is in his head.Black,by the other hand,is about a real love that is unrequited.I got shit is inmaginary love.In some way is like the song anna molly from incubus. And at the end,the guy, realize and pay the prizeof never had a girl that put in a begining maybe, his onmagination on fire, but that he never meet.He never made her real.Is a complex song that can be perfectly understand if you put it in its context:No Code era.

nothingman is about a relationship where the guy let the girl go and then later regretted it. that's not quite what is happening here. I think we had a whole string of these "the best..." for several different types of love songs (at least as I would classify them at any rate)--they are linked in the chat index thread announcement at the top of this forum.

between those two i pick i got shit. that song has always had some of my favorite metaphors (well, "favorite" since they're melancholy as shit). black is great and all, but maybe i can't fairly pick between these two since black doesn't have the same effect it once did on me.

nothingman is good thought too, imo.
