Better get the apologies over and done with, Im new.. and because i joined about a day before the new board was up, I have no idea if this type of thread had been created, if so... I apologise.

But just in case it hasn't been done....

What is your favourite line, or phrase in a PJ song.
Me personally, Im in love with this line from Black.

'i know someday you'll have a beautiful life, i know you'll be a star
in somebody else's sky, but why
why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine?'

Brilliant

You know which one gets me all the time? From Porch:

"I knew that I would not ever touch you, hold you, feel you in my arms, never again"

Thats pain. Also from Ghost:

"Bring it on, cause I'm no victim"

One I really enjoy, is the one from Tremor Christ towards the end

I'll decide, take the dive
take my time, not my life
wait for signs, believe in lies
To get by, it's devine!
oh, you know what it's like

what really gets me about this is the way it's delivered. EVERYTIME I hear this part of the song it just hits me, weather it be live, or the album version, there is something about the delivery. The pain, or desperation or something in the tone and everything, it's just very emotional, I dig it a lot.

Ya Tremor Christ is one amazing tune. The guitars are hypnotizing, you have no choice but to listen to the lyrics :) which are superb.. From that song, my fav line has to be.. "Ransom paid the devil, he whispers pleasing words. Triumphant are the angels if they can get there first."

I zoned out in the bathroom of my first PJ show to this song. Everyone in line for the loo behind me were pissed, pardon the pun haha

I LOVE THE LIGHT YEARS LINE
"with heavy breath, awakened regrets
back pages and days alone that could have been spent, together..
but we were miles apart
every inch between us becomes light years now
no time to be void or save up on life
you got to spend it all.."
and given to fly
he could have tuned in, tuned in, but he tuned out
a bad time, nothing could save him
alone in a corridor, waiting, locked out
he got up out of there, ran for hundreds of miles
he made it to the ocean had a smoke in a tree
the wind rose up, set him down on his knee
a wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw,
delivered him wings, "hey look at me now..."
arms wide open with the sea as his floor
oh, oh, oh...
he's flying, whole!
high! wide! oh...
he floated back down cause he wanted to share
his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere
but first he was stripped, and then he was stabbed
by faceless men, well fuckers...he still stands
and he still gives his love, he just gives it away;
the love he recieves is the love that is saved
and sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky
a human being that was given to fly...
flying! whole...
high! flying! whole...
he's flying! woah...
high... woah... oh...

yeah i like all the song lyrics

'Im a seed, wondering why it grows'- Education

and

'Young men they pretend, Old men comprehend'- Man of the Hour

Probably not the best, but it was the one which popped up in my mind the fastest:

hear my name, take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand, lie beside me i just need to say
i could not take a-just one day
i know when i would not ever touch you...hold you...feel you...in my arms...
never again...

Bloody ell there's loads, all of I'm open, present tense, bu$hleaguer, from ghost I love "bring it on cause I'm no victim", but my very favourite is "the haves have not a clue", sums up student haters perfectly

You guys have picked out many of my favorites already.

I'm into Riot Act right now -- here's the one that I'm using as my personal affirmation:
We're all different behind the eyes, there's no need to hide

And even though I'm kind of over LBC, I do love this line:
The wisdom that the old can't give away

You've just reminded me, many from thumbing my way, my favourite being "all these rusty signs we ignore throughout our lives, choosing the shiny ones instead", my current msn messenger screen name

"i have not been home since you left long ago
i'm thumbing my way back to heaven
counting steps, walking backwards on the road
i'm counting my way back to heaven
i can't be free with what's locked inside of me
if there was a key, you took it in your hand
there's no wrong or right, but i'm sure there's good and bad
the questions linger overhead
no matter how cold the winter, there's a springtime ahead
i'm thumbing my way back to heaven
i wish that i could hold you
i wish that i had
thinking 'bout heaven
i let go of a rope, thinking that's what held me back
and in time i've realized, it's now wrapped around my neck
i can't see what's next, from this lonely overpass
hang my head and count my steps, as another car goes past
all the rusted signs we ignore throughout our lives
choosing the shiny ones instead
i turned my back, now there's no turning back
no matter how cold the winter, there's a springtime ahead
i smile, but who am i kidding?
i'm just walking the miles, every once in a while i'll get a ride
i'm thumbing my way back to heaven
thumbing my way back to heaven
i'm thumbing my way back to heaven..."

"it's a hopeless situation
and i'm starting to believe
that this hopeless situation
is what i'm trying to achieve
but i try to run on
it's all or none
all or none...
here's the selfless confession
leading me back to war
can we help that our destinations
are the ones we've been before?
i still try to run on
but it's all or none
all or none...
to myself, i surrender
to the one i'll never please
but i still try to run on
no, i still try to run on
but it's all or none
all or none..."
